GODDY ROVERS UNDER 9'S- NEWLY FORMED TEAM GET INTO WINNING WAYS - ROVERS 4 - STAPLOE & DUDLOE 0

 Although the Godmanchester Rovers setup has been catering for youngsters of all ages for many years there has been a gap that has meant the current crop of under 9's are this season experiencing team footbal for the first time.

Mark and Lyanne Aspinall knew their son was desperate to play in a football team and so canvassed the opinion of their sons peers in the playground. It was felt enough lads localy of his  age were interested to warrant setting up a team for their age group.

Godmanchester Rovers Youth management agreed to Marks proposal and the interested lads had there first training session together 4 weeks before the start of the season !!

Their first couple of games were played in whatever out of date kit could be borrowed from the various other Rovers teams untill their own new kit arrived from their last minute sponsors

Training every Thursday at the Hinchinbrook Astro ground the boys are starting to enjoy success as a team with the whole squad of 13 getting a first team game thanks to the policy of rotation rather than having  A and B teams.

We wish them every success with the venture.
