GOOD CAUSES TO SUPPORT THIS YEAR ARE

- THE ROLLING FUND:- We have £ 900 in this so far and it is intended to let it accumulate for a few years until it is large enough to do something with that will have an impact.

- St. Marys RAISE THE ROOF fund:-We gave £1100 to this last year which was very gratefully received . It would be nice to achieve the same again.

-GMC IN BLOOM:- We gave £570 over to the Bloomers last year which enabled another planter to appear on the Streets of Godmanchester, here’s to Flower Power !

-PICNIC IN THE PARK:-There was £ 1200 made available for this insuring this annual  free weekend get together can continue .With outgoings of around £ 11,000 there is always a need for fundraising

- GMC. ROVERS FC:- The Bearscroft lane facility is available for hire as well as hosting supporters at the home games. With the recent success of the club moving up the leagues comes a need to constantly improve and maintain the ground while keeping the gate prices down to encourage match day support. It is also developing its second pitch for use by some of the local youth teams.

- NEW YEARS EVE 2015:- The gathering of friends and neighbours at midnight on the Causeway to greet in the New Year has proved a great success giving many families a chance to do something with the children on New Year’s Eve other than watching the box. Many have told me it is a perfect Community gathering and many watch from afar who can’t get down to the river. Last year the Community Association had to match the £ 640 raised through club 800 to ensure a respectable show, there is no other funding.  The Committee has agreed to underwrite it again for 2015 but will need to review the position ongoing . Hopefully if more of you feel inclined to support this activity it will ensure its continued success.
